Beacon continues to reach out to the community during these unprecedented times. Please check this page often for upcoming dates and locations listed below.
  • Tests will be given to area residents who are experiencing COVID symptoms.
  • Cloth masks will be provided to individuals being tested, and their family members.
  • Individuals do not need a doctor’s order to be tested. However, they will be screened to determine if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and are appropriate for testing.
  • If you have medical insurance, please bring your insurance information, driver’s license or other State of Indiana-issued identification. Insurance is not required, however. Testing will be provided for free for individuals who are not insured.
  • Contact the AnswerLine at 855-523-2225 if you are interested in hosting the testing unit.

Beacon’s In Car Screening Testing Sites

Beacon has specific sites set up for testing. For your safety and the wellbeing of others, please consider this information before arriving.

  • As with all our Urgent Care sites, this location remains open for all urgent care needs.
  • Screenings are performed through the in-car screening process at our Main Street and Ireland Road locations. NOTE: You will need to have a doctor’s order BEFORE being screened. Providers please fax 574-243-4306 (Main Street) or 574-647-6172 (Ireland Rd).
  • You will receive screening inside your car by an attendant. You will be asked some screening questions.
  • Based on your answers you may or may not be tested.
  • If you are not tested, you may be given other directions for care.
  • If you are tested and depending on the severity of our symptoms, you may be asked to go home and quarantine or go to the hospital until your results have been received. NOTE: Every patient tested is called with their results regardless of whether they are positive or negative.

COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Instructions for Elkhart General Hospital

You must have a doctor’s order BEFORE being screened.

  • The line for in-car testing forms at the McNaughton Park parking lot across the street from the hospital. Please follow the signs as you enter the hospital campus.
  • There will be attendants at the lot who will signal to the appropriate car to leave the parking lot and move to the testing location.
  • The attendant will signal you when it’s your turn for testing at the Arcade Avenue entrance at the hospital.
